Summer storms, I have to protect my site with tarpaulins

The season decided to play the rebels and send good old habits. As a result, instead of enjoying hot and beautiful summer days, we alternate between rain, heat, wind and temperatures below normal.

Anticipate to avoid storms on your site

I can guarantee you that building professionals and other professions working outdoors would have passed such random weather conditions! Forecasts of rain or thunderstorms, for example, require increased efforts to keep equipment and equipment stored outdoors dry.

Difficult to compete with the whims of the sky, obviously, but I have my method to protect my sites from the vagaries of the weather.

Summer is a good season for construction sites of all kinds: installation of inground pools, construction of walls or installation of fences and fences, restoration of facades, renovation of roofs, construction of a garage or an extension on the initial dwelling, etc. there is no shortage of work.

Normally, the main disadvantage is knowing how to protect men and equipment from hot weather. The working days are arranged accordingly. But this year, I must admit, our main concern is to protect construction sites and work in progress from the risks of large storms.

For this, the method is simple: it is necessary to provide a sufficient number of waterproof protective tarpaulins.

Why install tarpaulins?

The tarpaulin, when carefully chosen, is a waterproof protection and perfectly resistant to outdoor weather conditions.

Choose the 100% waterproof, preferably in PVC or high density to be able to withstand tears and gales.

Also remember to select a treated tarpaulin to withstand repeated outdoor exposures and UV attacks.

How to install your tarpaulins to protect a construction site?

I advise you to choose tarpaulins with special finishes: tarpaulins on which metal eyelets are arranged all around. These eyelets allow you to use a rope, sandow or any other type of fastener that is strong enough. Once passed through the eyelet, the fastener offers the possibility of effectively hanging the protective cover to a support such as wire mesh, construction machinery or trailers, etc. Without these eyelets, you will have to use heavy loads placed on the tarpaulin to prevent it from flying away. This solution works, of course, but is not optimal and above all, safety is not the best!

The tarpaulin may have a significant wind catch, except that in case of tearing up the tarpaulin constitutes a danger for motorists for example. I recommend that you anchor your protection firmly enough to its support and check rather twice than once!
